Sucina Murcia Spain
Sucina is a town or a district part of the municipality of Murcia. Just to explain a little bit what that means, since the UK does not have this administrative division that is “municipality”, so it might be a touch confusing for some of us. The municipality is the basic local administrative division of Spain, each being run by a city council. The district of Sucina is located about 29 kilometers from Murcia city, in the area known as Campo de Murcia.
There is a municipal centre in Sucina which is a modern building equipped to host various kinds of cultural events like exhibitions of painting or photography, cultural competitions, or theatre shows that every year enliven the afternoons of the district. The building has a series of rooms dedicated to housing the different groups that meet in associations in the town of Sucina, like the Women's Centre, the Social Centre for the Elderly, the El Alba Youth Association, with many of their programs and courses.
The building’s brick façade and its wide access area are in harmony with the large landscaped park in front of it, which completes the facilities by functioning as a recreation and rest area for the residents.
In recent years, the small town of Sucina has seen its space markedly reduced with the segregation of La Peraleja and Riquelme, old farms associated with the town since its foundation, now converted into residential complexes.
